"Now for the real test: Who will be king—the Samsung S25 Edge or the iPhone Air?"
1.Display:
S25 Edge has a QHD+ resolution on its 6.7-inch display, its pixel density () is higher than that of the iPhone Air. As a result, text and images will appear sharper on the Samsung display.
The iPhone Air can reach up to peak brightness on its display. The S25 Edge's 2600 nits' brightness is also excellent, but the iPhone Air's display will be easier to see in intense light conditions.
The S25 Edge only has a small punch-hole cutout, which causes less obstruction while viewing content.
The iPhone Air uses the Dynamic Island cutout, which is comparatively larger and takes up more space on the display.
So, the real result is: The Galaxy S25 Edge is ahead in display sharpness (resolution) and display space. On the other hand, the iPhone Air leads due to its outdoor brightness and Dolby Vision support.
2.Build and Quality:
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and the iPhone Air have a very premium and robust build quality because both companies used high-quality materials to achieve a slim design.
iPhone Air: Ceramic Shield 2 has been used on the front, which is comparatively stronger in resisting scratches and abrasions.
Galaxy S25 Edge: Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 is used on the front, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 is used on the back, making it significantly stronger in drop resistance (impact protection).
iPhone Air: An elevated 'Plateau' is used for the camera, which protrudes quite a bit from the main display.
Galaxy S25 Edge: Its camera bump or raised section is comparatively thinner, which means the phone wobbles less when placed on a flat surface.
"However, when considering practical, real-world use (literally 'in hand'), the Samsung S25 Edge is comparatively beating the iPhone Air here."
This is a strong statement that suggests the S25 Edge provides a better overall experience despite the iPhone Air being technically thinner.
3.perfomance:
S25 Edge: It has a 200 MP main camera and a 12 MP ultrawide lens. Having the ultrawide lens gives you the freedom to take pictures of landscapes or large groups, which offers much more versatility when taking photos.
iPhone Air: Its main compromise is the lack of a dedicated ultrawide or telephoto lens. It relies on only a single 48 MP lens, which severely limits the versatility of photography.
Samsung S25 Edge: Its 200 MP sensor can capture an incredible amount of detail. For 2× zoom, it utilizes the sensor's high resolution to provide optical-quality zoom. This is great for those who prefer a lot of detail in their photos.
iPhone Air: It can also provide 2× zoom using its 48 MP sensor. However, Apple is famous for its software processing and colour accuracy. It stays ahead in achieving natural tones and true-to-life colours in pictures.
S25 Edge is best for detail and lens versatility, while iPhone Air is best for video quality and natural colours.
5.Battery and Backup:
Based on the results of multiple tests, the iPhone Air provides slightly better battery backup than the Samsung S25 Edge.
The Samsung S25 Edge phone physically uses a battery with approximately 750 mAh more capacity. On the other hand, despite the iPhone having a lower battery capacity, its superior optimization (efficiency) of the Apple iOS operating system and the high efficiency of the A19 Pro chipset lead to lower power consumption.
The iPhone Air provided up to 12 hours and 2 minutes of web surfing backup in tests, which is excellent for a thin phone. This is a result of Apple's advanced chip and software optimization.
Comparatively, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge gave a backup of up to 11 hours and 48 minutes in the same test.
iPhone Air: This phone can deliver up to 6.5 hours of SOT. That means it's close to 6 to 7 hours of active screen use.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: This phone generally provides 4.5 to 6 hours of SOT. It rarely exceeds the 6-hour mark.
6.Price:
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: The starting retail price is often listed around $1,099.99. Some retailers may offer it for less, with base models sometimes seen closer to $899.99 - $1,019.99.
iPhone Air: The starting price for the iPhone Air is typically $999 for the base storage model.
"Now, there is only one question: Which phone would you choose?"
My Answer (or Choice)
For most users who prioritize battery longevity and a cohesive software/hardware experience in a thin form factor, the iPhone Air is the more compelling choice.
However, if having an Ultrawide camera and a larger, sharper QHD+ display are non-negotiable, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is the better option.
iPhone Air is The Symbol of Efficiency.
And Galaxy S25 Edge is The Source of Versatility.
